Vanessa McCarthy

Vanessa McCarthy, J.D., LL.M is a co-founder of Orlando Center for Justice (OCJ). After serving almost 7 years as the Board Chair, she joined the OCJ team a staff attorney. She has been helping the Central Florida immigrant community since 2014. Prior to joining OCJ she was the VOCA Project Attorney at Florida Legal Services and prior to that she was the Director at Catholic Charities of Central Florida Immigration and Refugee Services. Mrs. McCarthy is an immigrant herself, native of Brazil. She has a law degree from Universidade Candido Mendes, in Brazil and earned her Juris Doctor from Florida A&M University College of Law. Mrs. McCarthy also has a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree from University of Oregon School of Law. Mrs. McCarthy is a member of New York Bar and Florida Bar.
