Erin Carlson

Case Manager

Erin is the Case Manager at Orlando Center for Justice (OCJ) working to support youth by connecting them with valuable resources in their community. After graduating from the University of Tampa with a Bachelor's Degree in International Relations, Erin started her career as a Youth Care Worker/ Teacher in a shelter for Unaccompanied Children (UCs). Almost immediately, she discovered her passion for the advocacy of immigrant youth. Erin gained valuable insight on the UC’s experiences as their youth care worker, applying what she had learned to become the teacher she knew they needed. Erin felt endless gratitude for the inspiration her students instilled in her, and moved forward with the dream that one day she could continue to help them further. Erin was also honored to have worked as a Refugee Case Manager, where she provided crucial support to Congolese, Syrian, Ukrainian, and Sudanese families as they resettled and rebuilt their lives in America. This experience left Erin with great role models to lead by, and the necessary tools to start developing a Case Management program on her own. Now at Orlando Center for Justice, Erin gets to work alongside the heroes that fight to protect the same Unaccompanied Children who ignited her passion for advocacy, fulfilling her dream of further supporting her students more than she ever could before!
